45 Beidou satellites are in orbit to provide services

Yesterday, the 2022 China Beidou Application Conference opened in Zhengzhou, Henan, with the theme of "Intelligent Space-Time Innovation Leading".

With the opening of the Beidou-3 global system, a total of 45 Beidou satellites are currently in orbit to provide services. China's space and ground infrastructure have relatively complete service capabilities, and the Beidou industrial application system has basically been formed.

Data show that in 2021, the overall output value of China's satellite navigation and location services industry with Beidou applications as the core will reach 469 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of about 16.9%. In terms of transportation, by the end of 2021, more than 7.8 million road operation vehicles and more than 40,000 postal express trunk vehicles across the country will use the Beidou system.

According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in the first half of 2022, 128 models of Xinjianwang mobile phones support Beidou, with a total shipment of 132 million units, accounting for 98.5% of the shipments.

The Beidou satellite system is the third mature global satellite navigation system independently developed by my country after the US GPS and Russia's GLONASS. On July 31, 2020, the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system was officially launched. The global positioning accuracy of Beidou-3 is better than 10 meters, the speed measurement accuracy is better than 0.2 m/s, the timing accuracy is better than 20 nanoseconds, and the service availability is better than 99%.

At present, the world's four largest satellite navigation system suppliers announced by the International Committee on Global Satellite Navigation Systems include the United States Global Positioning System (GPS), Russia's GLONASS Satellite Navigation System (GLONASS), and the European Union's Galileo Satellite Navigation System (GALILEO). , China's Beidou satellite navigation system (BDS).
