50% of dating app users trust AI to find the other party


 

Kaspersky warned that many dating apps carry significant privacy risks, and to investigate the impact of technology on relationships, Kaspersky commissioned Sapio to conduct a survey of more than 18,000 users of the application dating from six continents. The majority of respondents perceived the effect as positive, with nearly 44% saying they trust the option to match AI, while 64% felt AI recommendations fully match their preferences.


More than half of the respondents, about 54%, said that dating apps have made the process much easier for them. Notably, 43% will only agree to recommended apps, and mass adoption of dating apps means people are now finding potential partners through AI recommendations, but that belief can cause them problems, and Kaspersky also found that dating apps reveal a lot of information. Personality around users, which can make them vulnerable to stalking and deception.


David Jacoby, a security researcher at Kaspersky, despite the benefits and capabilities of recommendation services, you must always be vigilant and remember that we cannot know for sure who is on the other side of the screen.


Dating apps collect a wealth of data that companies use to adjust match recommendations, and Kaspersky's survey indicates that the changes have created some highly effective matchmaking services, and arithmetic dating may not impress traditional romantics, but AI recommendations seem to work with many users.
