Sunday, the Suez Canal Economic Zone signed a preliminary contract with Mercedes-Benz to establish a logistics center in the Industrial Zone of Ain Sukhna, within the scope of the Canal Economic Zone.
This came in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zone, Yehia Zaki, and Raoul Rohan, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Egypt, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Peter Ernst Ross, according to a statement issued by the Suez Canal Economic Zone and obtained by Sputnik.
For his part, Zaki said that it is an important step for the region to establish a logistics center from Mercedes that facilitates and supports the auto industry, adding that such projects and contracts with international companies will enhance investment in the region. This project has gone through many negotiations and we have succeeded in completing all the talks to reach the establishment of this Mercedes logistics center, which includes a storage yard for cars, a center for auto parts, and a maintenance workshop.
In the past months, the Suez Canal Economic Zone announced a number of new projects. Earlier this month, a memorandum of understanding was signed to inaugurate the first Polish economic zone within the canal projects.
