Anafi Ai drone performs the tasks of cars connected to Google Maps

Drones have become popular, but their range often leaves something to be desired. Medium-range drones can go up to 1.5 miles, while high-powered drones can go up to 4.5 miles. Distance has been the limit for true freedom so far, the new Parrot Anafi Ai drone uses 4G connectivity to remove all range restrictions.

You can precisely control the drone from any distance, no line of sight required, and obstructions will not interfere with communication, thanks to the included Secure Element, the link between your phone and the drone is encrypted, this provides comprehensive data privacy and reduces the risk of someone hacking the drone Pilot and stole it.

The Anafi Ai drone stands out for another reason, too: It's the first drone in the industry to make its pilot app open-source. Parrot provides a software development kit that developers can use to generate custom code for the drone. This unlocks flight sensors and avoidance sensors. Obstacles, and more to customize, which means that the capabilities of custom software are only limited by the developers' imagination.

The Anafi Ai has a 48MP main camera as well as a 4K 60fps camera / HDR10 capable camera for capturing detailed aerial photos and video footage. 4K, HDR10 capability means even high-contrast areas will be captured clearly.

The camera features a 6x digital zoom; According to Parrot, users can get 1-centimeter detail from a distance of 75 meters. The tilt of the gimbal allows the camera to be adjusted from -90° to 90° along its axis.

Enhanced AI can use photogrammetry to automatically create flight plans and improve productivity. Professional drone operators can use this feature to create flight plans based on a building’s land registry. Essentially, the drone can create a 3D map and follow it to better avoid obstacles while in flight. You can think of it just like Google Maps cars you might see on the road but in the sky.

There is no need to sign up, any SIM card capable of sending data will control the Anafi Ai drone that is easy to use, folds for easy storage, and can be set up and running in just a minute. Perhaps just as importantly, it's rain-resistant, you can fly even in wet conditions, and the gimbal ensures sharp images in crosswinds of up to 12.7 meters per second.

Anafi Ai is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2021. A price has not been determined yet.
