Apple's 507-page lawsuit leaked

Wired recently disclosed a 507-page lawsuit document from Apple, showing that the original intention of Corellium to create a virtual iOS tool is malicious. The company sells the software to spyware and malware distributors, including NSO Group, makers of the well-known Pegasus cracker.

In this lawsuit, Apple believes that the virtual iOS tools created by Corellium have malicious purposes and are sold to NSO Group (its Pegasus tool can be used to monitor social activists, journalists, and other relevant personnel), among others. It is mentioned in the document that NSO Group tried this tool in advance as early as 2019.

Apple stated in this document: "Instead of assisting in fixing vulnerabilities, Corellium encourages its users to sell any discovered information on the open market to the highest bidder." Apple believes that this factual basis has pierced the "good guy" personality that Corellium emphasizes. The filing also said Corellium also sold its software in 2019 to Paragon, a company believed to be a supplier of surveillance technology to governments around the world.

Corellium also provides software to cybersecurity firm DarkMatter. DarkMatter, which is currently shut down, was used by the UAE government to monitor human rights activists and journalists.
