In 2015, Yoan Fanise, head of development at Ubisoft, who has played games like the successful Valiant Hearts, broke away and founded his own studio called Digixart. Under this brand, he released the successful 11-11 Memories Retold in 2018, and today his new game - Road 96 is released on PC and Nintendo Switch.
The title is presented as a procedurally generated story that takes place in the 1990s in the fictional land of Petria. You will play as a young hero who runs away from the borders of his totalitarian country. How you set out on this journey is up to you. You can walk, pay for a taxi or steal a car. The game works with these possibilities and, according to the developers, the whole world will change dynamically based on your decisions. Depending on the chosen procedure, you can meet a number of interesting characters or almost no one. What relationship do you have with these people? Will you be friendly or will you trust only yourself? The choice is yours.
We could already try the demo version of the game as part of the Steam Next Fest event, which took place from 16 to 22 June this year. Personally, I played both scenarios that the demo offered, and I was pleasantly surprised and I'm looking forward to how comprehensive the final version will be.
