Baidu's Radish Kuaipao launched an autonomous driving commercialization pilot in Hefei

According to the WeChat public account of "Apollo Intelligent Driving", recently, Baidu's self-driving travel service platform "Carrot Run" launched a commercial pilot in Hefei City to provide the public with self-driving paid travel services.


In March 2022, Hefei City issued the "Management Specifications for Road Test and Demonstration Application of Intelligent Networked Vehicles in Hefei City", which provided a policy guarantee for road testing of intelligent networked vehicles. The Second Batch of Open Road Catalogue has opened a two-way road test section of 464 km for ICVs, covering urban roads and urban expressways in the Binhu area, which will further promote the application process for ICVs.


According to the plan, 10 Apollo Moon Weima version self-driving models will be launched in the early stage of Radish Run. The service scope covers key areas such as the Binhu area of ​​Baohe District, and 54 recommended pick-up points will be set up. The operating hours will last from 9:00 to 17:00: 00 . At present, users can experience the one-click car-hailing travel service through the Carrot Run App, Baidu Map App, and WeChat Mini Program.


Radish Run officially said that the Apollo Moon Weima version of the autonomous driving model launched this time has 46 safety assurance technologies and 59 travel service designs. It has full sensor and computing unit redundancy, and its safety is greatly improved. At the same time, it is equipped with innovative functions such as four-door lock independent control, voice interaction, and smart doors.


The total mileage of Baidu Apollo autonomous driving has exceeded 32 million kilometers so far. Carrot Run has launched self-driving commercial travel services in Beijing, Chongqing, Wuhan, Changsha, Yangquan, and other cities. Among them, Chongqing and Wuhan have realized self-driving commercial travel services without a safety officer in the car, with a total order volume of more than 1 million orders. Baidu officially said that it has become the world's largest self-driving travel service provider.
