In 2019, BMW introduced a new version of the 1 Series that defied numerous brand conventions by choosing a front-wheel-drive architecture that provided more interior space. Only three years have gone, but BMW is already planning a refresh of its legendary compact, as our spies revealed earlier this year with a disguised unit on a crane. Now, the future restyling of the 1 Series is back on the road in one of its sportiest incarnations.
General characteristics of the BMW 1 Series 2024
We still have a heavily disguised prototype, but it already allows us to observe some progress from the present model, particularly in the front, which will adopt a more horizontal form and a grille and headlamps in its interior part- of a new design. There is also a reworked bumper and a rear that will adopt alterations such as a revamped design of the pilots and a rear with cleaner designs in general.
Little is known about the inside of this BMW at the moment, but we can expect a driving position with somewhat refreshed design and technology, an element in which the present model already shines out. In any event, we can expect progression to the new iDrive 8 multimedia system, as well as a minor increase in the size of their screens.
Technical specifications of the BMW 1 Series 2024
The same is true for the engines, however, BMW has been hinting that in the coming years it will eventually embrace electrification in a large manner in the 1 Series with at least one plug-in hybrid variant that may inherit the formula previously seen in the Series 2 Active Tourer or the X1. All of this is without mentioning its most powerful variants, such as the current BMW 128ti or the M135i xDrive.
The latter is the one seen in these new photographs, as evidenced by the presence of its sports exhaust, which here has two to four outlets, as well as its large-diameter sports rims. Remember that this is now the most powerful Series 1 model, with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 306 horsepower.
Price range and launch of the BMW 1 Series 2024
In any event, it is remarkable that BMW conducts a restyling of this BMW 1 Series so soon, especially if estimates point to a debut at the end of this year to be introduced in 2023, maybe with renewals also for the 2 Series. Coupes and Gran Coupes are available.
