BMW China recalls 569 imported IX cars

According to the website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, a few days ago, BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products", to The State Administration for Market Regulation has filed a recall plan.


BMW (China) Automobile Trading Co., Ltd. is recalling some imported BMW IX vehicles with production dates from August 2, 2021, to May 12, 2022, a total of 569 units. The software of the collision safety module of the vehicles within the scope of this recall was not properly written, resulting in the module being unable to correctly monitor the information such as vehicle speed, driving direction, and outdoor temperature transmitted in the bus system. The vehicle instrument cannot normally light the warning light and prompt the relevant alarm information, posing a safety hazard.


BMW (China) Auto Trading Co., Ltd. will program vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge to eliminate safety hazards.
