In addition to presenting the BMW X3 and X4, the most powerful and sporty version of the SUV coupe has not missed the appointment either, with two versions that reach 480 and 510 hp
Today BMW has thrown the house out the window in terms of presentations, and it is that on the same day the Bavarian firm has shown us the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé, in addition to the important renovation of its compact SUV BMW X3 and X4. Two models that in addition to showing their main range are also accompanied from the first day of their famous M models, that is, the BMW X3 M and this BMW X4 M that, like its brother, is presented with a more attractive style than ever, slightly you will improve and an interior with the latest technology and comfort.
A shocking presence
On an aesthetic level and following the X3 M formula, we find as novelties a new double kidney grille with a dark finish that in this M model is even larger than in the rest of the X4, while the LED headlights are thinner and show a more aggressive look. For its part, the rear of this model also receives a similar style with more modern design pilots. Added to this is a more sporty body kit that provides the extra muscle to the X4's SUV coupé body, always with the unmistakable stamp of BMW M models, and wheels up to 21 inches, perfect to accompany the striking colors that M has put for this version, the yellow Sao Paulo (in images), the blue Marina Bay and the black Carbon.
The interior maintains a discreet appearance but with that point of sportiness so typical of BMW that adds to the novelties already seen in the rest of the range of the new BMW X4, such as the new infotainment system, the air conditioning system, the seats, and the arrival of the semi-autonomous driving assistant professional.
Same mechanics, but more optimized
At the performance level, the new BMW X4 M maintains, like the new X3 M, the well-known S58 3.0-liter six-cylinder Biturbo engine, although this block has been optimized with improvements to the cylinder head in addition to a lightweight forged crankshaft such as the of the M3 and M4 models. This results in extra torque in a formula that once again comes in two levels, with the X4 M offering 480 hp and now 619 Nm and with the X4 M Competition reaching 510 hp and 650 Nm of maximum torque, which translates into acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h which now becomes 3.9 and 3.7seconds respectively, thanks to its xDrive traction system and an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. For its part, its maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h, although it can reach 285 km / h with the optional M Driver's Package.
Accompanying these optimized mechanics will not miss the famous M adaptive suspension, M Servotronic electromechanical steering, or the high-performance M brakes.
Landing in August
The new BMW X4 M will arrive in dealerships, along with the rest of the range of the new BMW X4 and X3, next August, with prices yet to be determined.
