BYD: In the first half of the year, it is expected to achieve a net profit of 2.8 to 3.6 billion

BYD announced today that in the first half of 2022, it is expected to achieve a net profit of 2.8 billion to 3.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 138.59%-206.76%. BYD said that in the first half of 2022, despite facing many unfavorable factors such as the macroeconomic downturn, the spread of the epidemic, the shortage of chips, and the continuous rise in raw material prices, the new energy vehicle industry performed exceptionally well. The sales volume of the Group's new energy vehicles has been growing strongly, hitting record highs many times, leading the market share and achieving rapid year-on-year growth, which has contributed to a substantial improvement in profitability and, to a certain extent, offset the profit pressure caused by upstream raw material prices. In terms of mobile phone components and assembly business, the demand from the consumer electronics industry was weak, but the Group's profitability recovered somewhat thanks to the improvement in cost control capability and the adjustment of product structure.

BYD officially announced June sales data. The data shows that BYD sold 134,036 new vehicles in June, a year-on-year increase of 162.7% in June. In the first half of this year, BYD's cumulative sales volume reached 646,399 vehicles, and the cumulative year-on-year sales volume has exploded. An increase of 162.03%. Among them, the sales of new energy vehicles accounted for the absolute majority. In June, a total of 133,762 new energy passenger vehicles were sold, a year-on-year increase of 168.8%; the cumulative sales in the first half of the year were 638,157, a year-on-year increase of 324.84%.
