BYD has recently received an order for 15 pure electric buses from customers of Spanish bus operator Arriva. These vehicles are expected to be delivered in 2023 and will be delivered to Alcorcon, a city southwest of Madrid (Alcorcón) put into operation.
BYD's new order includes 12 12-meter low-floor pure electric buses and 3 13-meter low-entry pure electric buses. Both models use a new generation of lithium iron phosphate batteries independently developed by BYD.
BYD said that the 13-meter low-entry pure electric bus entering the Iberian Peninsula for the first time adopts reinforced interiors and is equipped with an intelligent early warning system , which greatly improves vehicle safety. The model will mainly serve a number of intercity routes around Madrid.
