ByteDance's reading tool app Knowledge Zone announced the suspension of operations

ByteDance's reading tool app Knowledge Zone announced the suspension of operations, and will officially cease operations and services from December 12, 2022. The Knowledge District App is an information reading platform that ByteDance tested in April this year. Users can subscribe to the required information through keyword rules and information feed dimensions.

The outage of the app in the knowledge area has already been foreshadowed. On July 26 this year, the app was removed from the major app stores. The official did not give the reason for the removal. Now it may be a business adjustment.

Judging from the previous user experience, the District Recognition App can be said to be a revised version of Today's Toutiao, or similar to the Douban Group, which uses an AI algorithm to recommend, but configures the District Chief to participate in manual content selection, and also supports subscription to RSS, but maybe the effect of the test operation did not meet the official expectations, so it ended its life in just over half a year.
