China: Tesla subsidies in premiums for domestic Model 3/Y vehicles before the end of the month

According to Tesla’s internal email, for car owners who have completed the pickup from September 16 to September 30, if they choose to buy insurance in Tesla stores, they can enjoy an 8,000 yuan insurance subsidy, the insurance subsidy can be directly used to reduce the price of the car, and the surging news report said that Tesla has learned that the news is true.

It is reported that the event is aimed at all new Chinese-made Tesla Model 3 and Model Y cars, show cars, and non-new cars. The subsidy price is 8,000 yuan, and the car price is directly reduced by 8,000 yuan when the final payment is delivered.

The official website shows that the current Tesla Model 3 rear-wheel drive version is priced at 279,900 yuan, the high-performance version is priced at 367,900 yuan; the Model Y rear-wheel drive version is priced at 316,900 yuan, and the long-range version is priced at 394,900 yuan. The performance version is priced at 417,900 yuan.

With the completion of the transformation and upgrading of the production line of Tesla's Shanghai factory in July, the annual production capacity of the Shanghai factory has also reached 750,000 vehicles, and the pickup cycle of Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y models in the Chinese market has been greatly shortened. At present, the Model Y rear-wheel drive version is the fastest to pick up the car, with a lead time of only 1-4 weeks, while the Model 3 and other versions of the Model Y have a lead time of 6-10 weeks or longer.

During Tesla’s second-quarter earnings conference call this year, Musk responded to Tesla’s price issue, saying, “I think inflation will come down by the end of the year, and hopefully at that time we can lower car prices a little bit. ” Some industry insiders predict that Tesla China will usher in a long-lost price cut around October.
