China: The construction progress of the first large cruise ship exceeds 70%

Large cruise ships are known as the crown jewels of the shipbuilding industry and are the only high-tech ship products in China that have not yet been completed.

At present, the overall progress of China's first large cruise ship construction project has exceeded 70%. Last month, China's second large cruise ship also officially started construction and will continue to operate in the dock after the first ship is delivered.

China's first large cruise ship is more than 300 meters long, has a total of 19 decks, can accommodate more than 5,000 passengers at most, has more than 2,000 guest rooms, and has 25 million parts. In addition, the upper deck of the first large cruise ship is equipped with entertainment facilities such as a water park, a movie viewing area, a swimming pool, and a theater inside.

The report also showed some technical highlights in the construction process, including the use of more than 10,000 tons of sheet metal, but only 10 workers were needed to control the whole site.

In December last year, my country's first large cruise ship successfully achieved the milestone node of floating in the dock at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Corporation. In August this year, the second domestic large cruise ship officially started construction at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation. This signifies that China's shipbuilding industry has initially mastered the key core technologies for the design and construction of large cruise ships. While opening a new era of "two-wheel play with pearls", it has taken a milestone step towards the mass and serial construction of large cruise ships.
