Developing a Russian space robot to work in Earth orbit for 3 years

A Russian space company plans to develop a robot that can work in space for a period of three to four years. The Russian Androidnaya Technica company, which has designed a new Russian space robot, is counting on its robot operating in open space for 3 or 4 years instead of half the year, as previously planned. This was stated by a spokesperson for the company's press office in an interview on May 18th with the Russian TASS agency.

Considering the work of the Teledroid robot in open space is a technical experiment, we limit its working period to 6 months, but we rely on its uninterrupted use for a period of 3 or 4 years. The matter will become clear after the start of the realization of the project and receive more information.

It is noteworthy that the Russian Androidnaya Technica company signed last March with the Energia space company, in its capacity as a branch of the government "Ross Cosmos" space organization, an agreement to design a space robot of a new generation devoted to working in open space.

According to the agreement, the company will unveil the first experimental model of the robot in February 2022. The company's experts are currently working on determining the external appearance of the robot and designing its components, including devices for docking with the International Space Station and other space stations.

It is worth noting that the Russian Androidnaya Technica company had previously designed the first Fyodor space robot, which was sent in 2019 to the International Space Station, where Russian astronauts helped carry out mechanical operations, then returned to Earth.
