The Dutch brand expands the customization possibilities of its famous two-seater sports car with this special edition that also provides extra power
The most exclusive sports car brands always seek to offer a product that is as personalized as possible for each of their clients, so that there are hardly two identical models. Even small firms such as Donkervoort, with its famous D8, seek to achieve this with the different versions it has launched of its famous two-seater sports car with almost bare wheels.
For this, we have just presented the D8 GTO Individual Series, a special edition that seeks to expand those customization possibilities with new options, but also to make this classic-looking sports car even faster.
0 to 100 km / h in just 2.6 seconds
For this Donkervoort has taken the basis of its standard D8 GTO and installed an Audi five-cylinder 2.5-liter turbocharged engine and tuned by ABT Sportsline to offer 441 hp of power and 570 Nm of maximum torque, thanks to improvements such as a new improved intercooler, new fuel injectors and a new tuning of the engine electronics. These figures are transferred to the asphalt through a 5-speed manual transmission or automatic 6-speed paddles. In this way, this Donkervoort D8 GTO is capable of offering an impressive 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 286 km / h. In fact, in its tests at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, it proved to be 1.4 seconds faster than the D8 GTO-JD70.
Customizable even on the brakes
However, another interesting part of this Individual Series is that the possibilities to customize the D8 GTO have expanded, and not only in the most aesthetic part. Now, for example, we can choose different types of brakes, from some standard to others with six-piston calipers on all four wheels. You can also choose between a standard and an assisted and adjustable steering, and other types of equipment aimed at improving onboard comforts, such as air conditioning, an ABS system, rear-view cameras, and others more focused on more competitive driving, such as a cage. anti-roll, racing seats, four- or six-point harnesses, or a limited-slip differential.
Added to all this is, of course, a complete color palette to paint the bodywork, which also includes a colored carbon fiber finish, as well as other types of interior equipment, such as luggage to match the rest of the car.
This Donkervoort D8 GTO Individual Series will arrive with a starting price of 197,109 euros.
