In El Salvador, they started mining bitcoin using energy obtained from volcanoes. President Nayib Bukele shared a screenshot showing that the rig has already produced the first Satoshi. At the time of publication, it was about $ 270, but in the last hour bitcoin has increased significantly in value, so it is now $ 285.
Bukele noted that while the farm is in the process of installation and testing, but, apparently, it is already partially working. At the moment, El Salvador receives about a quarter of all electricity precisely from volcanoes, so this option for mining bitcoin, in this case, is ideal. It is not yet clear how productive the mining farms of El Salvador will be in the end - Bukele did not stipulate specific plans in this regard.
Recall that El Salvador became the first country to make Bitcoin an official currency.
