Elon Musk is not happy with Apple

Apple CEO Tim Cook has praised Tesla in the past and said he admires its CEO, Elon Musk, but Musk, who was famous for his outspoken views, did not conduct serious research in Apple and did not even show an inclination towards it.

According to a report by CNBC, Musk said during a Tesla earnings call yesterday that there was a misunderstanding about Tesla's use of cobalt, something used in the production of lithium-ion cells used in smartphones and electric cars. Almost 100% in its batteries, cell phones, and laptops, but Tesla doesn't use cobalt in its iron and phosphate packages, and almost doesn't use any cobalt in nickel-based chemistry."

He also explained that on a weighted average basis, we might be using 2% cobalt compared to 100% Apple's cobalt, and this was clearly an environmental sustainability dig that Apple believes it is doing much more than other companies.

This isn't the first time Apple has faced criticism over its cobalt use. Two years ago, the company was accused of aiding and abetting forced child labor in cobalt mines, and Apple said its long-term goal is not to require mining of any kind using only recycled materials.

Musk also said that Tesla wants to support the emergence of sustainable energy but does not want to build a 'walled garden'. It was a glaring dig at Apple, and Musk didn't hide because he coughed fake and said Apple after commenting on the walled garden.
