Epic Games CEO praised the Steam Deck announcement

Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said on Twitter that he was impressed with the announcement of Valve's Steam Deck.

Note that the novelty will appear first in the US, Canada, EU countries and the UK by the end of the year. There will be three versions to choose from:

  • $ 399 (29.5 thousand rubles) - console with 64 GB of eMMC memory, case;

  • $ 529 (39.3 thousand rubles) - a console with 256 GB of NVMe SSD memory, a case, a set of a Steam community profile;

  • $ 649 - 512GB NVMe SSD Console, Chemically Etched Anti-Reflective Glass, Exclusive Case, Steam Community Profile Kit, Virtual Keyboard Theme.

At the same time, Gabe Newell has already stated that the relatively low price of the device is not a mistake, but an experiment. Valve wants to see how the console performs in the market.

At the same time, Russian users are unlikely to be among the first to buy the new product - the pre-order of this feature is blocked.

In the future, it will probably be possible to order a Steam Deck in the CIS.

  • Details from the first Steam Deck preview: 2 teraflops, ray tracing, and the ability to install Windows

  • A game will soon be released on Steam where you can ride a real-life lawnmower

  • An RPG shooter with a "huge" open-world about stalkers in the Soviet post-apocalypse has been released on Steam
