Google allows cryptocurrency wallets to advertise on its platform

Google has revised its advertising policy, allowing cryptocurrency wallets to advertise on its platforms, along with exchanges, as of August 3, provided that the wallets are either registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a federal banking entity, or governmental.

The new policy will apply globally to the search site Google and its other platforms including YouTube, Gmail, or Blogger. This policy comes three years after Google banned all ads related to cryptocurrency in March 2018, however, Google retracted the policy five months later.

This allowed regulated cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase to advertise in the USA and Japan in September 2018.
