Google plans not to participate in MWC this year


Google is planning to not participate in the MWC exhibition this year. It is known that the Mobile World Congress (MWC) was cancelled last year due to the state of the epidemic, however, the GSM Association that organizes annual trade fairs for MWC this year plans to hold MWC in person, but Google decided not to attend the technology fair Google announced that it will not participate in the MWC this year.

In February of this year, GSMA confirmed that it will proceed with the MWC 2021 contract in person in June, and Barcelona attendees will request a negative Covid-19 test result (within 72 hours) and the test will be available on-site, said John Hoffman, CEO of GSMA Limited also stated that GSMA will use the technology to create a touchless environment from recording to all events within the MWC.

Hoffman also mentioned that Barcelona this year will also be different, saying, the capacity of MWC Barcelona is expected to be reduced, with Hoffman estimating between 40,000 and 50,000 participants in the main event of 2021 compared to about 110,000 two years ago.
