Chinese brands on Amazon were shocked when Amazon received a call to remove them from its platform. Amazon banned 600 Chinese brands, and Amazon says that these brands were in violation of Amazon's policies related to reviewing abuse the use.
A report by the Wall Street Journal earlier mentioned how some Chinese brands offered gift cards to consumers in exchange for positive reviews. Amazo said, customers rely on the accuracy and validity of product reviews to make informed purchasing decisions and we have clear policies for both reviewers and selling partners that prohibit misuse of our community features. Amazon clarified that this is not a campaign to target China but a global campaign, and we will continue to improve abuse detection and take enforcement action against bad actors, including those who knowingly engage in multiple and repeated violations of the policy, including the abuse review. We are confident that the steps we are taking are in the best interest of our customers as well as the honest companies that make up the vast majority of our global selling community.
