How to add your business to Google and display it on its maps?


 

Adding your business to Google is an important step to reach customers, make connections, and ultimately grow a successful business. and customize your business page.

  • Go to the Google My Business website and sign in to your business account, or create a Google Account for your business by visiting the Google Sign-in page and selecting Create an account.

  • From the main My Business page, click on “Manage Now” and on the next screen, enter your company name in the search bar, and in the drop-down list below the search bar, select Create a company with that name.

  • On the next page, enter the business name and business category, then select Next, you will be able to add additional categories later.

  • You will then need to choose whether you want your business location to appear on Google Maps, and if you are adding a restaurant or other business that is open to the public, being on Google Maps is very useful. But if you are only adding a small business from your home, it may be a good idea to keep this site private, you can select yes or no and click next.

  • If you choose to add your business to Google Maps, the next screen will ask you to enter your business address, and if you choose to keep your exact location private, the next screen will ask you to enter your service area, fill in the relevant information and select Next.

  • Enter the phone number and website associated with your business and click Next.

  • On the next page, choose whether you want Google Business to send you updates and recommendations for your business, and click Next.

  • If you choose not to provide a business address, you will need to enter your personal postal address to verify your business, and this address will not be visible to the public, enter your address and press Next, or choose Verify Later.

  • Click on the dropdown menu to select a method to verify your business, and depending on your business type, you may only have some verification methods available to you, for example, you may see Postcard by Mail listed as the only available method.

  • You will then be directed through a series of prompts to set up your Google My Business page, add your services and business hours, set messaging permissions, write a business description, upload photos, and claim $100 ad credit through Google Ads.

  • Once you have entered all the basic information to set up your business, you will be taken to your Google My Business account page, where you can add additional information, such as the company logo and participating managers.
