Volkswagen introduced the Tiguan back in 2016, and since then has received numerous updates. For the European and Indian market though, the company introduced a longer, 7-seat version, called the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace in 2019, and for 2022, the company revealed the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace with a revised design, new control and assist systems, as well as new features to compete with its rivals in the segment.


Due to its redesigned front, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace grows to a length of 22mm at 4,723mm offering more room inside. To maintain the premium quality of the Tiguan Allspace, the facelift receives a newly designed front featuring an independent radiator grille and signature light. Buyers can also opt for the new IQ. LIGHT LED matrix headlights, as well as a sweeping indicator function of the LED turn signals. On either side of the redesigned Volkswagen logo, an illuminated strip in the radiator grille adds a striking visual note.


An 8.0-inch digital instrument display is now standard in overseas markets, with a 10.25-inch cluster available on higher grades. Volkswagen will offer the Tiguan Allspace in Germany in three variants- Life, Elegance, and R-Line. While the Life trim will be the base version, the Elegance trim level offers numerous chrome-plated elements in the interior and on the exterior, as well as 19-inch alloy wheels. Sporty drivers can order the Tiguan Allspace in the R-Line version, and receive a multifunction leather sports steering wheel with touch operation and R-Line logo, decorative trims in Carbon Grey, Digital Cockpit Pro, and 19- or 20-inch wheels. The front seats can be ordered with an electric 4-way lumbar support adjustment and massage function. The 2022 Tiguan Allspace can, upon request, be fitted to become an SUV with seven seats or boast 1,920-litres of storage space.

The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace boasts a number of new infotainment MIB3 systems that are linked to a wide range of online services. An Online Connectivity Unit (OCU) with integrated eSIM allows users to benefit from the online services of We Connect and We Connect Plus. Depending on the equipment level, the range of MIB3 systems is supplemented with features such as natural voice control, access to streaming services, and cloud-based personalization via Volkswagen ID. Additionally, apps can now be integrated wirelessly via App-Connect Wireless for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.


Volkswagen will offer the Tiguan Allspace in Germany in three variants- Life, Elegance, and R-Line. Volkswagen offers the Tiguan AllSpace with three petrol engines and two diesel variants. The petrol units consist of either a 1.5-liter unit with 148bhp or a 2.0-liter engine with either 188bhp or 241bhp. The 2.0-liter diesel engines come with either 148bhp or 197bhp. Additionally, neither will there be a hybrid version nor a hot R-badged version for the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.
