After a four-year shutdown, the largest exhibition in the commercial vehicle industry, the Hannover Commercial Vehicle and Parts Exhibition (IAA 2022), officially opened yesterday. At this exhibition, the Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul pure electric long-distance heavy truck made its debut.

According to the official Weibo report of Daimler Trucks China, the first prototypes of the eActros LongHaul pure electric long-distance heavy truck have completed intensive testing and will be tested on public roads this year. In the next year, prototypes close to production will begin customer testing. In terms of configuration, the total capacity of the three battery packs of the eActros LongHaul pure electric long-distance heavy truck exceeds 600 kWh, and the new electric axle is equipped with two motors, with a continuous output power of 400 kW and a peak output power of over 600 kW. The eActros LongHaul has a range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge.

Daimler Trucks officials said that the company's development engineers are perfecting the design of the eActros LongHaul, with the goal of making the vehicle and its components as durable as traditional long-haul heavy-duty trucks, which can travel 1.2 million kilometers within ten years. It is reported that the battery carried by the eActros LongHaul uses lithium iron phosphate technology, and its primary feature is a longer service life and more available energy. At a charging station with an output of around 1 MW, the battery of the production eActros LongHaul can be charged from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes .

In addition to the battery life of the vehicle itself, the eActros LongHaul pure electric long-distance heavy truck can also extend the cruising range through an electric trailer. Daimler Trucks officially stated that when equipped with the eTrailer jointly developed by technology company Trailer Dynamics and trailer manufacturer Krone, the mass-produced eActros LongHaul is expected to have a cruising range of more than 800 kilometers on a single charge.
