Microsoft's SwiftKey keyboard input method will be removed from the Apple App Store


The iOS version of Microsoft's SwiftKey keyboard input method has not been updated for more than a year. Today, foreign media ZDNet contacted Microsoft officials, and the response was that the company will be downloaded from the Apple App Store early next month. rack SwiftKey.


Microsoft said that it will remove SwiftKey from the Apple App Store as soon as October 5, with the following specific statement:


From October 5th, support for SwiftKey for iOS will end and will be removed from the Apple App Store. Microsoft will continue to support SwiftKey for Android and the underlying technology that supports the Windows Touch Keyboard. For those iPhone users who have SwiftKey installed, the input method will continue to work until it is manually uninstalled or the user acquires a new device.


The official SwiftKey support site also confirmed this claim, saying that Microsoft will end support for SwiftKey on iOS on October 5, 2022, and remove it from the App Store.


Microsoft did not disclose the specific reason for the removal .ZDNet speculates that this decision may be related to Apple's reluctance to allow developers to access specific parts of iOS. Many users feel that third-party keyboards on iOS have been mediocre from 2014 to the present.
