Microsoft Windows 11 22H2 Moment update (Build 22940) exposed

Windows Central's previous sources said that Microsoft now intends to release a major version of Windows every three years, starting with Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2), Microsoft will also launch a new "Moments" project to release new features to the Windows versions on the market every few months, up to four times a year.

According to the information found by Windows whistleblower Albacore, Build 22940 appears in the open source files of PowerShell, which is expected to belong to the version number of the next major version of Windows 11 22H2 Moment update.

The news also said that the Windows 11 22H2 Moment update will arrive in October, and the Moment 2 update will arrive next year. Every big update brings some new features, including a tab file explorer.

Microsoft Windows 11 feature update version 22H2 will be generally available sometime in September or October. A Microsoft blog revealed in May this year that Build 22621 was selected as the RTM release candidate for Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2).

For users running the original version of Windows 11 21H2, there will be a seamless upgrade to Windows 11 22H2 as the system requirements have not changed. In terms of functionality, Windows 11 22H2 will bring back the much-anticipated taskbar "drag and drop" support. It also redesigned the task manager, which will use WinUI and Fluent Design, including Mica and Acrylic materials.
