Rostec plans to start deliveries of Mi-171A3 helicopters in 2024

Russian Helicopters Holding (part of the Rostec Group of Companies) plans to start deliveries of Mi-171A3 offshore helicopters in 2024. The company has already signed agreements on the supply of 27 helicopters for Gazprom and Avrora. The information was confirmed by the chief designer of the NCV Mil and Kamov (a structure of the Russian Helicopters holding) Sergey Kayumov.

In 2022, the enterprises of the Russian Helicopters holding Rostec launched the production of units and the purchase of components for the assembly of helicopters, which are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2024. The completion of flight tests and the receipt of a type certificate is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. To date, the holding has concluded agreements on the supply of 27 Mi-171A3 helicopters. Of these, 16 aircraft are intended for PJSC "Gazprom", 11 more - for the airline "Aurora". It is planned that the first helicopters will be delivered to the energy company in 2024, the agreement with the airline provides for the start of deliveries in 2025. - Sergey Kayumov

The chief designer does not exclude the supply of such helicopters abroad for buyers from friendly countries: “In the future, Mi-171A3 will also be supplied to foreign customers. Already today we can talk about the high interest in the new car from friendly countries.

The prototype of the Mi-171A3 helicopter first took off in July 2022. In May, Sergey Chemezov, General Director of Rostec State Corporation, announced the start of serial production of helicopters in 2023. In December last year, Rostec reported that they estimate the market for a helicopter at 100 vehicles by 2035 and rely on the demand of Russian and foreign companies.

The maximum takeoff weight of the Mi-171A3 helicopter is 13 thousand kg, it can carry up to 24 people, the maximum flight range is 1 thousand km. The helicopter is designed for operation in the temperature range from -50 to +50 degrees Celsius. The Russian-made engine of the latest modification VK-2500PS-03 makes it possible to operate helicopters in various geoclimatic regions, including extreme heat and cold conditions.
