Russia and China want to build a research station on the moon

Russia's Roscosmos space agency has signed an agreement with China's National Space Administration to develop a research center on the moon's surface or in orbit. A statement from the space agencies of both countries said that the station could also be used by other countries. The statement came at a time when Russia is preparing to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first-ever manned space flight in the USSR.

The international scientific lunar station will conduct a wide range of scientific work, including research and use of the moon, according to a statement from both agencies.

Chinese ministry said, China and Russia will use the existing experience of space knowledge, research and development, as well as the use of space equipment and space technology to jointly develop a roadmap for the construction of the International Lunar Research Station.

Russia and China plan to jointly design, develop and operate a research station.

Chen Lan, an analyst specializing in China's space program, is convinced that the project is a big event. This will be the largest international space cooperation project for China, so it is important.
