Snapchat brings augmented reality lenses to the Viber application on Android and iOS


 

Viber and SnapChat have teamed up to bring new AR Lenses to the Viber platform. Viber application. The new feature will provide Viber users with augmented reality video messages for the first time ever, and Viber has also launched 30 new lenses including animal masks and characters, underwater lenses, and many more.


The company plans to add an additional 50-70 lenses per month, to reach at least 300 by the end of 2021. Moreover, organizations will be allowed to create their own lenses on Viber.


Speaking of institutions and companies, Viber has already revealed that FC Barcelona, ​​the World Wildlife Fund, and the World Health Organization will be among its first partners to introduce new lenses on the app.


Viber also plans to offer lenses under certain brands to ensure revenue streams. According to Viber, this new feature is now available for iOS users in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Maldives, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Spain Sweden, Switzerland and the United States of America.


Lenses are only available in the beta version of Viber for Android, but the company has promised to make these new features available to all Android users by the end of August.
