The Division 2’s Codename Nightmare event is canceled

Codename Nightmare, a special gameplay event that Ubisoft teased for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 back in September, has been cancelled. In a live-streamed discussion yesterday, a developer with Massive Entertainment implied that disruptions caused by the global covid-19 pandemic were partly to blame.

Codename Nightmare will now be just an apparel event which means players have a limited time to collect outfit items and skins. That will get going midway through The Division 2’s Season 4, or on Feb. 2 to be more precise.

Codename Nightmare was teased during the Ubisoft Forward event in September, at the end of a trailer for the The Summit, a game mode that rolled out on Sept. 22. Massive Entertainment shared few other details about Codename Nightmare, except that it would be set in the largely unused Kenley College area of The Division 2’s Washington D.C., and would begin this winter.
