The Altea flight handling system at Zurich Airport was briefly out of order.
As a result, passengers had to check-in manually, which in turn led to longer waiting times.
First, "20 minutes" were reported on the incident.
The system has been operational again since 11:30 a.m., explains media spokeswoman Nathalie Berchtold from Swissport. It is hoped that the system will be back to normal in the course of the afternoon. "It's still going a little slow at the moment." The reasons for the failure are not yet known.
"The queues at check-in at the airport are slowly disappearing." Normal operations are expected to resume in a few hours. Some flights were slightly delayed, but the breakdown did not have a major impact.
Due to the failure, passengers had to check-in manually, which in turn led to longer waiting times. Zurich Airport recommended that passengers be at the airport three hours before departure.
