The tallest men on earth are facing a real problem

The average height of men in the Netherlands is the highest. Researchers have revealed that the average height of the Dutch people has begun to decline significantly in recent decades, and despite this, they are still the tallest people on earth, both men and women, even with this decline. The study, conducted by the official Central Statistical Office in the Netherlands, found that citizens born in 2001 are shorter than their counterparts born in 1980.

Currently, in the Netherlands, the average height of an adult man, starting at the age of 19, is 182.9 centimeters, while the average woman is 169.3 centimeters. But these figures reflect a "dwarfing" in the average height of men by 1 centimeter and 1.4 centimeters among women. The study said that after a century and a half of rapid growth, there are factors likely to be responsible for the Dutch's overall decline in height, such as immigration and diet.

She said, over the past century we have gotten taller and taller, but since 1980 the growth has stopped. Men born in 2001 were 1 centimeter shorter than the 1980 generation, and women 1.4 centimeters on average.

But the Central Statistical Office said in a statement that the Dutch are still the tallest people in the world with men outstripping their counterparts from Montenegro, Estonia, and Bosnia, while women outperform Montenegro, Denmark, and Iceland. The lowest average height for men is found in East Timor, while the shortest women are generally found in Guatemala.
