The Volkswagen Transporter that every cyclist wishes

From the UK comes this original one-of-a-kind transformation made on a Volkswagen Transporter by the British division of the brand itself for Michelin-starred chef Alan Murchinson. This version was created to support professional women's cycling teams during competitions.

The conversion also includes several beds, a kitchen, a professional coffee maker as well as a specific space to transport bicycles. The exterior aesthetics, as seen in the images, is also unique.

This camperization combines luxury camping with professional cycling thanks to customization by the specialist CJL Leisure Vehicles, which has the official certification granted by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

Murchinson, who has worked and managed Michelin-starred restaurants for over 25 years, is also the chef for the Canyon / SRAM UCI Women's World Tour team and has also worked with British Cycling. But he is also a great adventurer and a staunch cyclist, European and world Sprint duathlon champion for his age group.

This camperized Volkswagen Transporter allows you to transport up to five bikes in a sealed wet compartment that includes a high-pressure wash for kit and gear. Also a refrigerator with a capacity greater than 40 liters and a sink with hot water.

The most lifestyle-focused gadget is a La Marzocco Linea Mini coffee machine and a grinder powered by a 3,000-watt inverter and two AGM batteries that are recharged by a roof-mounted 350-watt solar panel. In addition, the van is wrapped in a striking livery inspired by Rapha cycling clothing.

Gadget extras

As Alan Murchison points out, To travel around Europe supporting professional cyclists I need a vehicle that is suitable for long-distance travel in comfort, with ample storage space to support the nutrition of elite athletes that offers an excellent double espresso, something that covers this unique Transporter. It combines practicality with a cleverly designed interior and an original exterior finish.

For his part Cye Hayes, MD of CJL Leisure Vehicles points out that "we asked Alan for his wish list and we set out to design it in the available space that the Transporter 6.1 offers. The chef's custom design is based on the CJL conversion Adventure Competition , which also has a bike compartment and wet room, and facilities for campers with a hob, fridge, and bed.
