They reveal how the design of the new Jeep Renegade that will arrive in Argentina

Jeep is moving forward with the development of the new Renegade. It is a redesign for the compact SUV that competes in the segment of Volkswagen T-Cross, Honda HR-V, Chevrolet Tracker, Ford EcoSport, Nissan Kicks, Peugeot 2008, and Citroën C4 Cactus, among other models in this category.

After the appearance of a unit with the body camouflaged in the streets of Brazil, a series of projections began to circulate that imagined what the definitive design of the new Jeep Renegade could be like. Note: they are not official images.

The designer KDesign captured the changes that are expected of the SUV in the frontal sector. There it would undergo tweaks in the format of the bumper, the fog lights, and the engine vents. It would also update the interior of the headlights, which would retain the classic rounded styling.

The projection includes important novelties in the cabin. Pending official confirmation, the 2022 Renegade would feature a new floating-style touchscreen for the multimedia system and a general redesign of the dashboard, also with a new steering wheel.

Beyond the visual and equipment changes, the most important thing will be under the hood. Because there a new gasoline engine with turbo will debut, with the aim of discontinuing the current 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 130 horsepower that some versions of the SUV equip.

Based on what different media in Brazil comment, where this model is produced for the entire region (from there the Argentine market arrives imported), there are two Stellantis engines (it is the new group that was born after the merger of FCA and PSA) with many chances to get into the range of the Renegade.

One of the candidates is the new 128-horsepower 1.0-liter turbo gasoline engine that will make its debut with the Fiat Pulse, the small SUV that the Italian brand will launch this year in Argentina. The other is the new 180-horsepower 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine that will also be offered by other models in the group, such as the new Fiat Toro and the Jeep Compass. At the top of the range would continue the 170 horsepower 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine, with 4x4 all-wheel drive.

The North American brand did not confirm when the new Renegade will be presented, but everything seems to indicate that before the end of the year it will be known in Brazil. And the Argentine market could arrive sometime in 2022. For now, of the current model, there are four versions for sale with prices between 2.77 and 5.11 million.
