If you have always wanted to have a Lada Niva and a motor home, now it is possible to have both at the same time thanks to a Russian company that is dedicated to building camper vans based on the brand's cars.
In fact, the Lada Niva-based van has all the add-ons that could be needed to comfortably spend several days away from civilization. Also, given its capabilities over difficult terrain, one can really go far from civilization in this vehicle.
The car measures 4.76 meters long, 1.74 meters wide, and has a total height of 2.77 meters. With a wheelbase of only 2.8 meters, it is one of the most compact motorhomes one could get. But this does not mean that you have to do without anything.
Thus, the camper van has a 70-liter drinking water tank and another 45-liter tank for wastewater. It also has a gas stove, powered by a 5-kilo gas bottle. In fact, the saloon of this van has a heating system that makes it habitable even on the coldest days.
The lack of external electricity sources will not be a problem either, since it is equipped with a gel battery with a power of 12V and 95 amps. Inside there is space for two people to sleep.
Since it is a modification of the Lada Niva, created by the Russian company Lux Form, the other technical characteristics were not altered. That means it has a 1.7-liter gasoline engine that generates 84 horsepower, connected to a five-speed manual gearbox.
Obviously, with these characteristics, this motorhome will not break records with its performance, but thanks to its height above the ground, four-wheel drive, and reduction gear, it will be able to reach places inaccessible to ordinary camper vans. The car with all the modifications costs about $ 21,000, although it is worth mentioning that it is unlikely to be available in the countries of Europe or the United States. Interestingly, Lux Form is the same company that recently introduced a special version of the legendary UAZ-452 van, also modified to perform the functions of a motor home.
