Volkswagen removed any multimedia system from the Fox hatchback due to chip shortage

Chip shortages continue to take their toll on automakers. Different companies get out in their own way. For example, Volkswagen in Brazil has stopped equipping the budget Fox hatchback with any multimedia system.

There is not even the simplest radio with some kind of monochrome screen. This is despite the fact that usually the car is equipped with an infotainment system with a 6.5-inch screen. Now in its place is only a plastic plug.

The car has become somewhat cheaper, but now those who want to at least listen to music will have to buy and install something on their own. However, Volkswagen dealers, of course, already offer suitable options.
