After launching beta versions of Xcode 14.1, iOS 16.1, iPadOS 16.1, Apple tvOS 16.1, and watchOS 9.1, Apple reminds developers to confirm that the app works properly on these versions, and to ensure that the app is ready to prepare.
Apple told developers that to take advantage of the improvements in the latest SDK, it's important to build and test with Xcode 14.1 Beta. Meanwhile, the new ActivityKit framework, now available in iOS 16.1 Beta and Xcode 14.1 Beta, enables developers to build real-time activities for their apps.
Apple pointed out that with real-time updates, real-time activities can help users track app content. The app's real-time activity is displayed on the lock screen and on the Smart Island. "Smart Island" is a new design that allows users to experience the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max intuitively and pleasantly.
Additionally, Apple confirmed that the Live Activity feature and ActivityKit will be included in iOS 16.1 later this year . When the iOS 16.1 Release Candidate is available, developers can submit their Live Activity-configured apps to the App Store.
