Facebook classifies the Taliban as a terrorist organization and bans its pages


The Digital Media Center DMC reported on Tuesday, that Facebook decided to consider the Taliban movement, which took control of Afghanistan in the past few days, as a terrorist movement.


The center said in a statement, which is reviewed by Alsumaria, that "the company began deleting its pages and supportive publications on the Facebook and Instagram platforms."

The center indicated that "the movement's members are still using the WhatsApp instant messaging application affiliated with Facebook, but the company will monitor the situation and will delete any account associated with the banned organization or those who speak on their behalf."


It pointed out that "Facebook has assigned a specialized team of Afghan experts to monitor and delete content related to the organization."
