Google updates Maps, Tasks Meet, and more to work better with iOS 15 and iPad 15

Google has updated its apps and services to take advantage of Apple's new operating systems, iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, as the company explained new iOS 15-related features and the changes its apps will show in an official blog post.

Perhaps the most important thing the blog explains is how Gmail, Meet, Tasks, Maps, and other Google apps handle notifications in iOS15 with Focus Mode turned on, and the company stated that it has updated its apps to work with Focus Mode and make notifications as relevant and timely as possible.

The company explained that with focus mode enabled, notifications that do not require attention immediately and can be dealt with later, will go to the notification center, and important notifications, such as directions from Google Maps and task alerts, will pass as they should and will not be silenced.

Google has also added larger Google Photos and YouTube Music widgets for iPads, which, according to the company, will allow users to easily access their best memories from Google Photos and favorite music right from the iPad home screen.

Another feature Google is adding is the ability to play music directly in the YouTube Music app when searching for something in Spotlight, and all-new features and tools will start rolling out in the coming weeks to all iPhone and iPad users.
