Instagram enables the TikTok-like Remix feature

A report by TheNextWeb said that Instagram has copied a popular feature on Tik Tok called Duets and renamed it Remix. Using this service, you can, for example, plan a collaboration with a friend that makes it look like a planned cinematic creation.

It can be used by clicking on the three-dot menu on Reels, selecting the Remix this Reel option, and then starting to record the user's private clip.

The feature is already rolled out in all Instagram apps, and will be enabled on all Reels posted through public accounts. The good thing about importing this feature is that creators in countries like India, where TikTok is not available, will be able to create short collaborative videos with ease.

However, the Facebook-owned social network isn't the only one copying TikTok, and last week TechCrunch reported that Snapchat is also working on a feature similar to Duets also called Remix. You may have to rethink the name now.

Instagram is trying to capture the popularity of TikTok with new features and apps. Last month, it launched the 2MB Lite app in 170 countries and said support for Reels is coming soon.
