New shots from Resident Evil 4 VR

Resident Evil 4, one of the most popular parts of this horror series, was first released in 2005, then exclusively on the GameCube. Over time, however, the game got through ports to all different platforms. In addition, a virtual reality version was announced last week, and yesterday we received more information at the Oculus Gaming Showcase.

Of course, unlike the original, we will play the game from a first-person perspective. The developers adapted everything to VR so that various objects became physical objects so that we could really collect ammunition or treasures. Reloading, inventory is also reworked, and we no longer have to go to the menu to change weapons. Leon then has an indicator of the health and number of rounds in the weapon on his hand. You can move with the analog lever, but if you don't like it, there is also a teleport.

The textures have been significantly improved so that the game does not look too outdated and, in addition, it will now run in a higher framerat. Animations and cutscenes, on the other hand, remained the original, only the developers transferred them to Unreal Engine 4.

Capcom, Oculus Studios, and Armature Studios are working on the game. It is reportedly in development for several years and we will see the release this year. Resident Evil 4 VR aims exclusively at Oculus Quest 2.

Finally, I would like to remind you that this is most likely not a speculated remake of Resident Evil 4, which allegedly originated in the M-Two studio at first, but was recently to be taken over by Capcom itself. According to unconfirmed information, this game is due to be released in 2023.
