Nigeria suspends Twitter operations

The Nigerian government, through the Ministry of Information and Culture, announced its decision to suspend the operations of the social networking platform Twitter in the country. The statement, made by the Minister of Information and Culture and signed by his media assistant, makes clear that telecom companies in the country are preventing Nigerians from using Twitter.

According to his statements, the activities of the current separatists are likely to turn towards war.
