Recently, Parus Holdings announced that it has filed a second patent infringement lawsuit against Apple in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. The lawsuit alleges that Apple is infringing on Parus' patents on voice control technology for web browsing and voice control of the device. The lawsuit includes US Patent Nos. 6721705 and 8185402.
These patents were acquired by the applicant from Webley Systems in 2001 and 2004. According to the lawsuit, they are violated in all Apple products with the voice assistant Siri.
Parus requires all available remedies, including damages, to be applied for all inappropriate Apple sales. The lawsuit alleges that the infringement was "willful" and requires Apple to pay triple damages and legal fees, and permanently prohibit infringement of Parus patents.
Note that this is Parus' second lawsuit against Apple in connection with the use of voice control technology. The first was served in the summer of 2019.
Earlier this month, Parus won an important victory over Apple in the Patent Office of Appeals, which completely rejected Apple's demand to invalidate key Parus patents.
