Valve has figured out how to deal with dealers of the Steam Deck console

One of the reasons for the scarcity of PS5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles is enterprising resellers. They take advantage of a shortage of devices in the market by reselling them at inflated prices. But it looks like Valve figured out how to deal with them after the Steam Deck began selling.

On the console's website, in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, it is reported that in the first 48 hours after the opening of the Steam Deck reservation, only those users who bought something on Steam before the beginning of June 2021 will be able to reserve the new product.

The start of booking is expected on July 16, and for this, you will need to pay $ 5 (about 400 rubles), and full orders will begin to be accepted only at the end of 2021 and only in the countries of the "first wave". At the same time, the company does not guarantee that the Steam Deck will be enough for everyone who makes a "reservation".

The valve itself intends to sell "millions of devices", although it is still difficult to say how much they will succeed. And Gabe Newell has already stated that the low price of this type of console is an experiment.
