BYD is a popular Chinese battery and electric vehicle manufacturer that sold 603,782 new energy vehicles in 2021. A year earlier, sales were just 189,689 units.

Following the BYD Dolphin released in 2021, BYD is going to keep the nautical-themed design and names in the new models. Chinese sources said the company will release BYD Seal, BYD Seagull, and BYD Sea Lion models this year.

BYD Seal will be released in the first quarter of 2022 in China, and the price will be between $24,000 and $32,000. This all-electric sedan is aimed at the mid-range market and is said to be the unofficial successor to the BYD Dolphin introduced in August 2021. The BYD Seal will be 4770mm long, 1860mm wide and 1460mm high, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. The power reserve will be up to 700 km. The car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds.

The BYD Seagull is due to be announced in the second quarter of 2022 in China. This will be a budget electric car with a price of 9.5 to 12.6 thousand US dollars. There are no details about the electric car yet.

As for the BYD Sea Lion, it should be announced in the third quarter of 2022 in China. It will be the flagship all-electric crossover, costing between $32,000 and $40,000. It is expected that it could become a production version of the BYD X Dream concept car, which debuted at the Auto China 2021 event.
