Third-party rental merchants operate independently through mini-programs, facilitating leasing services and transactions directly with users. However, Alipay emphasizes its zero-tolerance policy towards illegal leasing activities and vows to take swift action upon detection.
To facilitate user involvement in maintaining platform integrity, Alipay offers a "Feedback and Complaints" portal within mini programs. This enables users to report any violations or suspicious activities observed while engaging with merchants. Such user-driven reporting mechanisms enhance transparency and empower individuals to contribute to a safer digital ecosystem.
Alipay's proactive stance against illegal leasing is further evidenced by its implementation of stringent regulatory standards. In July 2023, the platform introduced the "Alipay Rental Industry Management Standards," setting clear guidelines for merchants. Notably, these standards restrict the total annual rent and resale amount of leased products to no more than 130% of the official website price. Moreover, Alipay established a joint governance group for the leasing industry in June of the same year, signaling a comprehensive approach to addressing industry challenges.
