Apple's self-driving car prospects are bleak

According to a report by The Information, Apple's self-driving car project code-named Project Titan seems to have a bleak future.

It is reported that Apple CEO Tim Cook (Tim Cook) will "almost" never visit the Santa Clara, California office of the Project Titan team, and has been "unwilling to put resources into mass production cars", much to the disappointment of other Apple executives.

Earlier this year, an Apple test self-driving car was traveling at about 15 miles per hour when it crashed into a jogger.

According to The Information, Apple's self-driving car software initially identified the jogger as a "fixed target," then identified him as a "standstill" before identifying him as a "running one." jogger". But even so, Apple's test self-driving car has only slightly changed its driving direction .

Fortunately, safety testers "broke at the last minute" and the car came to a stop a few feet from the jogger. Apple's tests showed that the self-driving car would "almost certainly" collide with a jogger if the driver hadn't braked.

After that, Apple temporarily stopped the self-driving car test mission, investigated the cause, and added the intersection to the map.
