Changan Automobile: Avita plans to provide Huawei Hongmeng HarmonyOS in-vehicle system in Q3

Changan Automobile announced on July 3 that its electric vehicle brand Avita plans to provide Huawei's original HarmonyOS car operating system in the third quarter of 2023. This will give users more options to customize their in-car experience.

Avita is a joint venture between Changan Automobile and Huawei. The company's first model, the Avita 11, was launched in December 2022. It is equipped with Huawei's DiDi intelligent driving system and features a 15.6-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system.

The HarmonyOS car operating system is based on the open-source operating system, Linux. It is designed to be highly customizable and can be used across a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, and cars.

The HarmonyOS car operating system offers a number of features that are designed to improve the in-car experience. These include:

  • A unified user interface that can be used across all of the car's screens

  • A powerful voice assistant that can be used to control a variety of in-car functions

  • A built-in app store that offers a wide variety of apps

  • A high level of security and privacy

The availability of the HarmonyOS car operating system on Avita vehicles is a significant development. It shows that Huawei is serious about its ambitions in the automotive industry. It also provides Avita customers with a more customizable and feature-rich in-car experience.
